Refund Policy

Thirty days on hosting, no reasons required. Here is exactly what that covers and what it does not.

Last updated: 12 September 2026 · This policy forms part of our Terms of Service. This is a starting draft and has not been reviewed by a lawyer — have it checked before you rely on it.

Hosting: 30 days, no reasons required

If SitePex is not right for you, tell us within 30 days of your original order and we refund the hosting charge in full. You do not need to justify it, and we will not put you through a retention process. We would rather you left cleanly and considered us again later.

The guarantee applies to your first order of a hosting plan. It is not intended to be used repeatedly on the same account to obtain free hosting, and we may decline a request where that pattern is clear.

Renewals: a 7-day window

If a renewal invoice is paid and you realise you meant to cancel, tell us within 7 days of that invoice and we refund it in full, provided the service has not been substantially used in that period. Cancelling in your client area before the renewal date avoids this entirely, and we email you before every renewal.

Domains are different, and here is why

When you register or transfer a domain, we pay the registry immediately and that payment cannot be reversed — not by us and not by any other registrar. So domain fees are excluded from the guarantee. This is standard across the industry and not a SitePex rule.

Every plan includes a free domain for the first year. If you claim a hosting refund, the registration cost of that domain is deducted from the amount refunded, because it was paid to the registry the moment the domain was created. The domain remains yours: you keep the year that has been paid for, and you can transfer it elsewhere after the 60-day ICANN lock.

What is not covered

  • Accounts suspended or terminated for breach of our acceptable use policy
  • Chargebacks raised without contacting us first — talk to us and it is usually faster
  • Requests made after the window has closed
  • Repeated refund claims on the same account

How to claim

  1. Open a ticket from your client area, or email [email protected] from the address on your account.
  2. Tell us which service. A reason is welcome but not required.
  3. Download anything you want to keep — cPanel backups, databases, email — before the account is closed.
  4. We approve or query within two business days; the money reaches your original payment method in about five to ten business days.

GST charged on a refunded invoice is refunded with it, and a credit note is issued so your accounts reconcile.

Your statutory rights

Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or any other Indian law.

Refund questions

How do I actually claim a refund?

Open a ticket from your client area within 30 days of the order, or email us from the address on your account. Say which service and, if you feel like telling us, what went wrong. You do not have to give a reason.

How long does the money take to arrive?

We approve or query the request within two business days. Once approved, the refund goes back to the original payment method and typically appears within five to ten business days, depending on your bank or UPI provider.

Why can I not get a refund on a domain?

Because we pay the registry the moment the domain is created and that payment is not returnable to us either. No registrar can refund a registered domain. Check your spelling carefully before you pay.

What about the free domain that came with my plan?

You can still refund the hosting. The domain’s registration cost is deducted from the refund, because it has already been paid to the registry the moment it was created. The domain stays yours: you keep the year that has been paid for, and you can move it elsewhere after the 60-day ICANN lock.
